Vertikaalista sirontaa

JT65 signaalia vertikaaliantennilla 14 MHz:lla

No, kyseessä on useinkin järkevä työskentelylähetelajin valinta ja tietysti toimiva asemakokonaisuus.

No, ehkä niinkin. Hyvin ehtii puita lisäilemään saunan uuniin yhteyksien välissä hi...

"Ei kuuroille korville" - JT65HF

JT65 kuulee heikoimmatkin signaalit

No, ensikerralla sitten.

JT65 -yhteys Englantiin

JT65HF-yhteys Englantiin

Pileups with JT65HF

JT65 working - some pileups....
This morning (local time), I had a pleasure to see some pileups on 20 meters band with JT65-mode. So nice to hear those "ghost signals" from Japan (software decodes signals under -24 dB, cannot see them on waterfall).

Let´s keep JT-modes active and alive!

JT65 - working

Morning QSOs with JT65 and coffee....
Two very nice QSOs on 20 mtrs and 40 mtrs with JT65 this morning. The first one was not a DX but very good one for me as always: R1YY from Murmansk, abt 900 km ! And the other good one was JA7OUV in Aomori, Japan, over 7100 km.

Last days I have seen more activity on other than FT8 -modes too. Thank´s for QSOs.

CU on my waterfall.....

JT65HF - strong mode

The propagation conditions are not very good on higher HF-bands nowadays. Despite of that there are a lot of stations on the bands - thank´s for COVID-19. CW and digital modes are the best weapons to catch signals on HF now. Most stations are using those new, quick modes like FT8 and FT4 - quick and rather an easy way to change calls, locator and signal report in less than one minute!
I like FT8 when working on 28 MHz or 144 MHz, and time to time on 433 MHz too. Other time when not active with my key, I like using those "oldtimers" like JT65 / JT9, just like this weekend. To complete one QSO, it takes about 6 minutes if everything goes well (not too much QSB, QRM etc) - but I have not any hurry to play with my radios 😁

Have a good time with all the digimodes! See you on my waterfall!

Nice catch with JT65HF on 20 mtrs

Not too much stations with JT65HF

Nice QRP -qso on 17 meters band

What a nice surprise on Short Waves: I tried to make some QRM with my IC-703 and an old R-8 vertical, running just 5 Watts.
I most cases the propagation is good enough to make a QSO with local or European stations - everything else is DX for me... hi.
I was just running some CQs on 18 MHz digimode JT65. I most cases I use JT9, but this time there was not any other activity on JT9 that I could even monitor.
Digimodes like JT65/ JT9 are good for me, because You can do something else at the same time when working on radio.
After working some European stations, I was amazed when I saw JF1FAO on my screen, calling me. So, amazed that I almost missed the QSO. Finally everything was OK and we had QSO without any problems.
The other nice thing was that I received QSL card from Japan almost at the same time when my last "over" was sent.

JT65-HF is a strong QRP-mode.
I have monitored JT65 QRGs on 15 meters band (90%) this week here in Enonkoski.
Below is a list showing my signal spots on cluster networks worldwide.
It will be time to move back to JT9-1 when going back home later this week.

This morning I found that there is quit good propagation to Japan and Asia.  So, I decited to make some QRM on JT65-HF on 15 meters band. I turned my 5 element beam towards Japan and started calling CQ from KP42je. Yes, I could see on cluster infos that my signal was good in Japan and Australia and only one minute since starting, the first JA-station was answering me. Next two hours I had a pleasure to work many JA-stations almost without any unnecessary CQs -like a pileup. Thank you for so nice contacts and operating style. My first eQSL have been sent a minute ago and the rest ones for LOTW and other service, will be send as soon as I shall go back home.
The picture in this blog is just because JA4VKL´s QSL card was in my "hands" immediately after the end of QSO!! This QSL reached me by e-mail service. Many other stations sent their eQSL direct to my eQSL profile - thank you.
I am spending this pedition here in Enonkoski district in my summer-QTH. Hope to hear many more stations before going back home next week.

QRG for JT9-1 (?)

This week I have tried to make QSOs on JT9-1 mode, using QRP equipment here. The problem is not that I use less than 5 Watts to communicate - the problem is that I cannot find other stations on the band! It looks like every station are using QRGs (frequencies) they like or find to be right.
For example: on famous 30 meters band, JT65-HF stations are on 10.038/ 10.039 MHz, but JT9 stations are obviously around 10.030 MHz. Yesterday I read that one station called on 14.081 and 14.078 MHz (20 m band) - JT65-HF stations are 14.076 MHz on 20 m band.
Anyway I have made 2 QSOs on 30 m band and my first one on 10 m band (28.076 MHz). Maybe we shall find each other with JT9 without cluster spots or any skeds.

JT9-1 nice contacts on 30 m band

Yesterday I spend much time with my Apollo 11 project and JT9-1 mode on HF-radio: both of them successful hi....
Apollo 11 is soon ready for launch and to orbit the Moon, and I found stations on 30 meter band using JT9. Most JT9-stations use JT65-HF frequencies on 10.138 and 10.139 MHz, but JT9-stations have a segment on 10.130 MHz. Before my operation I announced my efforts on Twitter and Hamspots -forum. After half an hour CQ-calls, I could make nice contacts with 2.5 Watts and GP-antenna with stations in the UK and Germany. I also checked other bands, but could not find any takers there.
Yes, as I mentioned, my Apoll 11 project is going well, and I shall make a larger story later on this blog - be patient.

JT9-1 => JT65-HF

This afternoon I decited to make some QRM on 28 MHz band. First I tried to find any contact on JT9 -mode without success. After checking conditions on 15 meters I came back to 10 meters. This time I tried JT65-HF. I saw some weak signals and tried to call CQ. PSK-reporter indicated that my QRP was quit loud in France: three different stations announced me. Finally, I was quit surprised to see very strong singal on my "waterfall", - 6 dB. Well, nice DX-station, N4CE, called me back. There was no problem to make a QSO. JT-modes are so nice for QRP. The only pity thing is that there sounds/ looks to be more and more QRO stations - signals more than 50 W on these modes. Why - why they need so much power?

JT65 QRP activity

This morning I had some extra time for amateur radio, because of the rainy weather, hi. I found that there were many good signals on 28 MHz JT65 -segment. Many nice DX signals were received from JA, HS, VK -countries, just to few mention.
I tried to work some stations too. Obviously the propagation conditions were so interesting, that my signals went  somewhere into the space, because I could not work any stations during 2 hours period. Then I decited to test 21 MHz band: JA -station and some European stations aswered me immediately. The skip from my QTH was better here this time.
Next weekend will be JARTS -RTTY contest, so it is important to know that my QRP is doing well here!

The Power of QRP - JT65

Just a few minutes ago, I decited to try some QRP-activity on 15 meters band on JT65. I was a little surpsired, when a station, JR2FVG, from Japan answered me immediately. I had only 5 Watts with my groundplane antenna in use.
Last week I worked several Japanese stations from our radio club, OH5AB, using our special call OH5B. Similar antenna, but max power around 35 Watts.
Bands are really opening and condx improving.

ROS new digital mode with mysteries

Well, I am not sure how to say this, because I like operating QRP and all mode devoted for it. Since the first quater of this year when ROS was officially published I have tested it regularly here in Lappeenranta. I have not counted how many QSOs I have made, because my logbook doesn´t know that mode. Same problem with one electronic QSL-service, called LoTW. I know that this mode is not officially accepted in many forums, but it works FB and the software is updated very often. Almost every time when I start my ROS on my computer, I found that I am not using the latest BETA version hi... Why Beta, why not real stable one...?
Some days ago, I found that there are a new club for this mode. That´s not surprise, because there are so many different clubs on "radiowaves" hi.. Well, I decited to join to the club also, but the answer was quit interesting that I receiced - for some reason they couldn´t accept my membership application. No any reasons was mentioned. Anyway that´s not problem. I am going to use this mode time to time in the future too, despite of the club rank hi.... Happy QRPing for everyone.

JT65-HF - radiopower!
