X-34 "maakiitäjä"

The X-34 Landspeeder madeby the SoroSuub Corporation is designed for fast planetary travel. The Landspeeder has a maximum speed of 250 km/h. The two-seater is less suitable for carrying cargo: the load space is limited to the legroom and seats. Under the bonnet there is a repulson generator which enables the speeder to hover. To cool the generator there are heat outlet vents running from the top to the passenger compartment. The tubines serve to propel it forwards. The X-34 is operated by a steering wheel that controls the air flow of the two external turbines in order to set the direction of flight. The foot pedals control the reverse thrust which brakes the speeder. The sensor on the bonnet measures speed and acceleration and transfers the data to the small display on the console. The driver sits on the right side. The windscreen is made of a high-resistance, transparent material that give effective protection against sand and stones. As the left turbine has caused multiple problems, Luke Skywalker has permanently removed the cowling to enable him to repair it quickly.


Kaksi Tähtiensota -sarjan kuuluisaa hahmoa, Luke Skywalker ja C-3PO,  maakiitäjässään. X-34 Landspeeder ei ole mikään taistelu- saati rahtialus. Tilat on optimoitu kahdelle matkustajalle, eikä muuta tilaa sitten enää jääkkään. 250 km/h tuntinopeus tarjoaa vauhdikkaat kyydit planeetan pinnalla. Joku voisi väittää, että ohjauspyörän käyttö aluksen ohjauksessa tekee kulkuneuvosta hieman automaisen. Ehkä näin onkin.

Luke Skywalker kyydissä ja C-3PO ohjailee

Avaruustekniikkakin tuottaa toisinaan ongelmia, joten Luke on päättänyt poistaa moottoritilan suojuksen aluksen vasemman turbiinin päältä. Näin tarvittavat säädöt ja korjaukset sujuvat nopeammin.
